At a time of year when the entire world is buying gifts, just imagine with me for a moment this scene\u2026<\/p>
<\/p>
You are parent and you are so proud of your child. They are everything to you so you plan like you never have to save and buy them a gift. It\u2019s everything you know they need.<\/p>
<\/p>
It will empower<\/em> them, encourage<\/em> them, comfort<\/em> them and inspire<\/em> them.<\/p>
<\/p>
The day comes when you can present this surprise to your child but instead of opening it with glee and benefitting from such a costly gift, your child refuses to acknowledge it. Or maybe they take it but leave it unwrapped on a shelf. Perhaps they do open it but take no time to learn what was inside.<\/p>
<\/p>
After a while, they come to you and complain. Life is hard, they feel ill-equipped and directionless.<\/p>
<\/p>
Sadly, this is the reality of countless Christians when it comes to the precious, incredible and powerful gift we know as the Holy Spirit.<\/p>
<\/p>
Some are like Paul described to Timothy, \u201cHaving a form of Godliness but denying the power thereof\u2026\u201d<\/em> 1 Timothy 3:5<\/p>
<\/p>
Others are simply \u2018uninformed\u2019 having never been taught sound doctrine. 1 Corinthians 12:1<\/p>
<\/p>
So many of us wonder why we struggle in our day to day, let alone attract multitudes for healing like Peter in Acts 5:15. And this is largely due to a lack of the Holy Spirit in our life.<\/p>
<\/p>
We have access to the same \u201c\u2026Spirit of God, who raised Christ from the dead\u2026\u201d 24\/7. So, why the struggle? Why the lack of direction?<\/p>
<\/p>
A wise man once said, \u201cYou can be a Christian without the baptism of the Holy Spirit but you\u2019ll likely just get to heaven a bit quicker.\u201d<\/em><\/p>
<\/p>
It\u2019s alarming how many Christians see the only benefit we have in Jesus as eternal Salvation. Which is great! Let\u2019s not down-play Salvation! But, did you know that the Gospel was never meant to just be a ticket to the New Kingdom?<\/p>
<\/p>
We have been given the most amazing, the most incredible gift by our heavenly Father in order that we may benefit in this<\/em> lifetime, not the next. The price was so terrible and great! But it\u2019s been paid. The goods are all ours.<\/p>
<\/p>
Turn to John 14, 15 and 16 and start \u2018unwrapping\u2019 God\u2019s gift to you.<\/p>
