I\u2019ll explain.","content":"<blockquote><p><img src=\"https:\/\/images.teemill.com\/amxnorhv3dniyqiqbinthphjd59kzc5eonkdkkpptxx1bv0a.jpeg.jpeg?w=1140&amp;v=2\" alt=\"amxnorhv3dniyqiqbinthphjd59kzc5eonkdkkpptxx1bv0a.jpeg.jpeg?w=1140&amp;v=2\" \/><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">\u201cAnd we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.\u201d Romans 8:28<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">This verse can be summed up into one word: <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Redemption<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">One of the <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">worst doctrines to ever be taught<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"> in the church is that God is responsible for everything. This doctrine will usually be found under the umbrella of Sovereignty.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">There\u2019s no way I can do justice to this subject in a small post like this but I\u2019ll try to squeeze in as much as I can!<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Sovereignty is defined as \u201c<\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">supreme power or authority<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">\u201d.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">While I agree that God is all-powerful and certainly the supreme authority in <\/span><em><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">my<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"> life, that does not mean that He is the author of all things. I\u2019ll explain.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Firstly, 2 Peter 3:9 tells us that the Lord is \u201c...not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">God wants all of us to enter into eternity with Him<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">. Period. That is His desire. But, for the vast majority, that won\u2019t happen.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">A sovereign God that doesn\u2019t achieve His will?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">In Romans 12:2, it talks about\u00a0 \u201c...that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.\u201d Good, acceptable and perfect are all very different standards.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">How many people do you know who are living within that latter mentioned \u201cperfect\u201d will of God? Why aren\u2019t all believers experiencing that?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">You\u2019ve certainly heard a non-believer ask, \u201cWhy does God allow bad things to happen to good people?\u201d Or, worse, perhaps you have heard a brother or sister state, \u201cWell, it must have been God\u2019s will,\u201d and then they\u2019ll quote Romans 8:28 or Job 1:21.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Unfortunately, what is revealed in these people is an islamic-style mentality from an unrenewed mind. <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">God\u2019s will is not an unsolvable mystery<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"> like so many other religions willingly believe and suffer under.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">To say that God, in his sovereign power, has ordained all things is a \u201cdoctrine of devils\u201d. 1 Timothy 4. <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">It removes all personal responsibility<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"> from the Christian believer and, worse still, <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">it decimates trust in God\u2019s character<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">The creation of man was an incredible thing because in doing so, our all powerful <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">God limited Himself<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"> and His sovereignty. Man was given free will. The ability to choose.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Of course, the primary purpose of this was for man to choose to love God and enjoy friendship with Him. We know the story though. Heartbreakingly for our Lord, man used free will for evil and always will. Thus requiring a Saviour. Romans 3:23.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Since the cross, <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">our choice was renewed<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">: accept redemption through the sacrifice of Jesus or our deserved eternal damnation.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Redemption.<\/span><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">God can redeem anyone and anything<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">. He is just waiting for his children to allow Him to do so.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">If he can redeem your eternity, sanctify you and make your Spirit as righteous as He is, then He can surely redeem your present.
