He is my beginning and my end. Though, being honest, it took me a while to learn what this really meant and how it could change my heart.<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">If there is one thing that holds me together whenever I begin to feel over whelmed or start to lose sight of who I am in Him, it\u2019s Psalm 121:1-2.<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><blockquote><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">\u201cI lift up my eyes to the mountains\u2014<br \/>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0where does my help come from?<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote><p><\/p><blockquote><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">My help comes from the Lord,<br \/>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0the Maker of heaven and earth.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote><p><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">There was a time when my oldest son was very young, my husband worked long hours in the city and I was far from my own family. And, though I had support around me, I often felt alone. I was striving to be who I thought others wanted me to be and always feeling that I fell short of that mark.<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">In the muddle of newborn days as a new mum, I kept looking around me to understand who I was meant to be and how I was going to be good enough. I did a lot of comparing and it lead to me feeling nothing but worn down and worthless.<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">And it was in the middle of my doubting that the Lord spoke these words to me so clearly<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p><em><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">\u201cKeep looking higher.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p><p><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">Just like that I found the clarity that I had been missing for so long.<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">I prayed over His words and through Psalm 121, and came to realise that no matter which way I was comparing myself to others, it would leave me empty.<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">Looking round at those on my level I could either feel like I was doing a better job than them, building a wall of self-righteousness between me and God, or, that I wasn\u2019t as capable as them, leading to feelings of worthlessness and resentment.<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">But, if I lifted my eyes up, looked higher and focused on Jesus, all that I could see was His love for me. His plan for me. His heart and desire to see me whole, joyful and as He created me to be.<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">It was a life changing moment.
