Confession time: I\u2019ve struggled with bad case of perfectionism<\/strong> and procrastination for as long as I can remember. So much so, it\u2019s caused me near-incapacitating anxiety.<\/p>

I want to achieve 110% at everything I do. But because this is hardly ever possible, I put off trying almost anything.<\/strong> If I can\u2019t get it right the first time, then I will likely just not try.<\/p>

Maybe you\u2019re reading this thinking, \u201cThat\u2019s so silly of him.\u201d<\/em> If so, I completely agree with you! Or, maybe you read that and thought, \u201cWow\u2026that\u2019s me.\u201d<\/em> I hope not but if you did, then the following will change your life\u2026<\/strong><\/p>

Of all the things we do in our life, the most important of all<\/strong> is as Jesus said<\/strong> in Matthew 22:37, \u201cThou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all your mind.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

If that\u2019s the case, let me make this statement: God doesn\u2019t ever ask for you to be perfect at anything.<\/strong><\/p>

Why? Because you can\u2019t be.<\/strong><\/p>

God asks for one thing from us and that\u2019s relationship.<\/strong> He desires that we choose to desire Him, loving Him because He first loved us.<\/p>

Is that not so freeing?<\/strong><\/p>

Our Spirit might be as perfect as God\u2019s Spirit is because they are one and the same but we experience failure<\/strong> because our Soul is still conforming to the image of Christ. This is the lifelong experience of a believer and it should be embraced.<\/strong><\/p>

God calls us not to achieve righteousness but to simply hunger and thirst for it.<\/strong><\/p>

If we were to look at the \u201chall of fame\u201d in Scripture, Hebrews 11, we\u2019d see all the names of mighty men and women who acted in faith and obedience to God,<\/strong> achieving great exploits.<\/p>

However, Moses was a murderer<\/strong>, Elijah was suicidal<\/strong> and David committed adultery<\/strong> before having a man killed<\/strong> to cover it up!<\/p>

We can frame those acts as failures but according to God, they didn\u2019t define who these men were.<\/strong> They hungered and thirsted after righteousness. For example, it says that David was a man after God\u2019s own heart.<\/p>

If perfection was necessary, then we\u2019d all be doomed! And if it\u2019s not necessary to live a life that\u2019s perfect before God,<\/strong> then how dare we believe that anything else deserves perfection?<\/p>

Christ did not come to proclaim liberty<\/strong> just for you to imprison yourself in fear of achieving less than an A* at anything.<\/p>

God doesn\u2019t want perfect. He just wants you.<\/strong><\/p>
