Ask anyone who has spent time in these places or similar and they will likely all tell you that it was an awe-inspiring experience and that a great impression was made upon them. Perhaps they felt powerless and insignificant against such a great and vast backdrop.

When we think of these ancient, snowy peaks, it's hard to believe that they are anything but immovable. However, that's not what our Lord said. While you may not see an actual mountain moved in your lifetime, each of us have mountains within ourselves that do not belong. Ugly, sharp peaks of guilt and shame can be mountains of the heart. It takes faith to believe that the love of Christ can lift these mountains and, just for us, throw them into the sea.

The mountains have given me perspective. These colossal structures of nature make our greatest architectural achievements look like tooth picks. We are so insignificant against them! However, if we were to just look the next planet along from us in our galaxy, we’d find that our tallest mountain, Mount Everest, is but a third of Mars’ highest peak! From there, the wonders of the Universe just go on and on. It makes me ask questions similar to the psalmist, ‘What is man, that you are mindful of him…’ Psalm 8:4 But, He is mindful of us. He cares so deeply for you, down to every feeling that you experience.

One of my favourite songs of all time will always be ‘How Great Thou Art’. I especially love the verse that contains the line, ‘When I look down from lofty mountains grandeur,’ because it reminds me of some precious memories made in the incredible heights of our world. It’s one thing to see pictures of the Alps or the Rockies but to be there yourself is beyond compare. In these moments, I almost cannot help my soul from wanting to sing out aloud and tell the world that my God is indeed great!

Jacob Shepherd

CEO & Co-Founder | Revival

:::::::::::::::::

Shop with us

Learn more about us

Follow us on instagram - https://www.instagram.com/revivalforeveryone/

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
